28: The Gate (1987) with Jordan Bonaparte

This week, Becky, Cam, and the host of “The Night Time Podcast” Jordan Bonaparte like to watch scary movies while the folks are away, so we start with 1987’s child friendly horror film “The Gate”. We discuss the terrible things that happen to the dog in this movie, why nobody loves Terry, the effect of difficult roles on Child stars and incendiary sweaters. As a bonus, we talk about the highlights of Jordan's fantastic podcast “The Night Time Podcast”, which covers stories of true crime and the paranormal in eastern Canada. We also throw back to My Bloody Valentine and discuss the in-depth research and interviews Jordan performed for his podcast. If you loved all things spooky as a kid, this is going to be a great one!

On this week's show

Jordan Bonaparte is the writer, producer, and host of The Night Time Podcast

With a lifelong interest in the stranger side of Canadian history and a keen eye for both research and storytelling, Jordan is well positioned to share Canada's weird and wonderful people, places and events.

Applying the sound and graphic design skills gained via past careers as both a musician and photographer, Jordan uses his technical experience to prepare visually and sonically appealing content not commonly found in the genres he covers.
