40.0 Dick - With Alison Zimmer

40.0 Dick - With Alison Zimmer

We get perky and political this week as movie expert Alison Zimmer of Mongrel Media and Drunk Feminist films brings us 1999's Teen Comedy/Political Satire “Dick”. We talk deep cuts from Ryan Reynolds's early Canadian career, Bruce McCullough's fabulous coif, how you would pitch a movie as weird tonally as this one, and miscasting dogs. As a bonus, Alison helps us understand Canadian film distribution. Don't worry, every dick joke that could be made is made by this film already, so we don't go there. Dick is currently available for rent on iTunes.

Originally from Halifax, Alison graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts. She began her career at the Toronto International Film Festival, working festival programming, and Film Circuit and is now employed with Mongrel Media. She’s a member of the Drunk Feminist Films collective and enjoys making ice cream in her spare time.
