39.0 Goon - With Aurora Browne

39.0 Goon - With Aurora Browne

We get rough and tumble this week as the hilarious Aurora Browne of Baroness Von Sketch joins Becky and Cam for 2011’s viciously hilarious “Goon”.  We talk the romanticizing vs. the glorification of violence, why everyone who’s in this movie deserves cookies, Kevin Smith’s own Enforcer movie ambitions, and Aurora brings some serious expertise to how to edit film for comedy.  Becky has been waiting to cover this movie since the podcast started, so you can bet she goes deep into the research. Goon is currently streaming on Canadian Netflix and is available on iTunes. Give these people your money.

Aurora Browne is an actress and comedian originally from Thunder Bay. In 2000, she was nominated for the Tim Sims Encouragement Fund Award. Also in that year she was hired by Toronto's  Second City comedy troupe. While there she co-wrote and performed in four Mainstage revues: "Family Circus Maximus", "Psychedelicatessen", "Insanity Fair" and "The Bush League of Justice". She co-starred in four seasons of the CTV/Comedy Network's production Comedy Inc. She made a guest appearance on the second season of Corner Gas. She won the 2008 Canadian Comedy Award for Best Female Improviser.

Aurora is currently seen on CBC and IFC's  The Baroness Von Sketch Show.
