148: The Dead Zone (1983) with Corey Mayne and Adrian Jaworski

This week, we’re back on the Cronenberg train with one of the best Stephen King adaptations out there - The Dead Zone from 1983. And who better to chat with us about this than Adrian Jaworski and Corey Mayne who just finished adapting one of Stephen King’s short stories - Willa, into a short film about to launch onto the film festival circuit.

Dead Zone is the first Cronenberg movie not written by Cronenberg, and it’s a great indication of the work that’s was to come in his latter career - blending moments of straight horror with quiet suspense and a melancholy tone. Plus amazing performances from Canadian actors like Colleen Dewhurst, Nicholas Campbell and Jackie Burroughs.

The Dead Zone is on a streaming service near you. You can find out more about Willa at the Willa website.
