Breaking from our usual formula, Becky, Cam and writer Adam Wilson, cover the works of experimental filmmaker Norman McLaren. An unsung hero in the world of animation and filmmaking, we started out attempting to discuss just three of his short films – Begone Dull Care (1949), Neighbours (1952) and Canon (1964) but ended up touching on much more. This is the story of a world traveller, an innovator, a genius who tested his limits, and a gay, pacifist, film-geek who made incredibly beautiful things with government money.
