This week, Becky sits down with Guinness World Record holder, author, and legendary marathon runner and trainer Martin Parnell. Martin is both the subject and executive producer of the new documentary, The Secret Marathon.

When Zainab stood up for her freedom and became the first woman to run in the Marathon of Afghanistan, she started a movement for equality that spread around the world. Zainab’s story inspired Martin, to run in the Marathon of Afghanistan the following year to support Zainab. To avoid making the marathon a target for a terrorist attack, Martin and filmmaker and first-time marathoner, Kate McKenzie must train and travel to Afghanistan in secret. What results is a beautiful film about what it takes to risk everything for your freedom.
