133: Heater (1999) with Gavin Michael Booth

This week, Becky’s getting chatty with filmmaker Gavin Michael Booth about the remarkable lost gem Heater from 1999.

With a great run at Sundance, and an unsentimental but not overly gritty look at homelessness in Winnipeg in the late 90’s, it’s a mystery why this film isn’t mentioned more on “Best of Canadian Film” lists. It’s beautiful, darkly funny, and features unbelievable performances from the two leads Gary Farmer and Stephen Ouimette.

Luckily, Heater is available to stream on Amazon Prime RIGHT NOW. Don’t miss it.
